Among topics on the agenda was machine-readable content labeling for digital devices
On March 6, the first in 2020 meeting of the Working Group on Children Information Security of the Public Council under the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights was held in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
The Group includes the Smart Internet Foundation, which manages the domain .ДЕТИ.
The agenda of the meeting consisted of the following issues:
- Collecting the basic requirements for machine-readable content labeling in accordance with 436-FZ for digital devices;
- Analysis of the International Safety Internet Day results: systematization of threats and factors of influence on children's information security;
- Finalization of information and awareness-raising materials on cybersecurity.
On the first issue, the participants identified the basic technical contours of a machine-readable label, the scope and prospects of its use (Internet and digital TV). The participants also discussed a promising option for the free distribution of protective software products such as "parental control".
The second and the third issues on the agenda were discussed in a single context. Thus, the head of the working group, Urvan Parfentiev, described the main problems of conducting information and awareness-raising as well as expert work in terms of content available to minors, noting the problem of qualification of regional specialists. As a result, participants considered it appropriate to strengthen the work on the standardization of conducting information and awareness-raising businesses and increase the level of expert qualifications. The previously prepared Basic Lists of Topics Covered on “Cyber Abuse” and “Deep Fakes” were also discussed in the context of standardization.
